Why does God want us to pray and intercede for others? Because intercessory prayer reflects God’s own character of outgoing love and mercy. God wants us to think like He does, and praying for others helps us to think beyond ourselves and to grow in compassion for others. God compares prayer with sweet-smelling incense that pleases Him (Revelation 5:8). The Wailing Wall or what is also known as the Western Wall is a place for prayer and pilgrimage and the picture of the wall is a reminder of our heritage as Christians and at one point the closest spot to the Holy of Holies geographically. However Psalms 145:18 says "The LORD is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth.". We are comforted by this response and we can rest assured our Father in Heaven is with us where ever we are. So let us reflect and pray for those that petition us to intercede on their behalf.
